Global Species Action Plan: supporting implementation of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework through species conservation

Why attend
Species conservation action is essential for the delivery of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The Global Species Action Plan offers implementation support to governments and other stakeholders through highlighting relevant action, tools & resources to achieve species conservation elements for each of the targets in the draft GBF.
HideDescription
There is a need for urgent and effective action to address growing detrimental impacts on species. Species conservation action is essential for the delivery of not only the species-related targets but many other targets of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The Global Species Action Plan (GSAP) offers support to governments and other stakeholders through highlighting all necessary action, and available and relevant tools and resources to achieve species conservation elements under each of the proposed targets in the GBF. IUCN with its Members and partners stands ready to scale up efforts with all governments and stakeholders for the sustained recovery of wild species supporting delivery through effective species conservation action. The sessions will explain the development of the Global Species Action Plan which will incorporate guidance on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, species conservation planning guidance and how to ramp up action for species.
