Mr Il Young OH

IUCN-Republic of Korea Senior Government Manager, IUCN

Mr. Il Young OH works for the Strategic Partnerships team of IUCN global secretariat as a Senior Government Manager between IUCN and the Korean Ministry of Environment.

Il Young has spent over 20 years working at the Korea Ministry of Environment. Prior to joining IUCN, he was Director of the Department for Climate Change Strategy and worked in the Presidential Office where he coordinated work related to climate change, the green new deal and nature conservation. Other postings have included working as Environmental Secretary at the Korean Embassy in Bonn between 2012-2015 where was the focal point for UNFCCC, IPBES and UNCCD.

Il Young holds a master degree in Mineral and Petroleum engineering from Seoul National University and studied sustainable development strategy at the Centre for Environmental Strategy, University of Surrey in the UK.
