Director Conservation Finance

Ray is the Director of  Wildlife Conservation Society’s Business and Conservation program, working with the public and private sectors to promote policies and practices to mitigate impacts on nature and generate long-term financing for conservation.  He also leads WCS’s  conservation financing efforts aimed at developing innovative financing solutions for conservation.  Globally he has contributed to the design and establishment of various funding institutions and provided strategic guidance on investing and management for conservation enterprises.  He also is the founder of the Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network. Ray has lived and worked extensively in Africa, Asia and Latin America.  His academic training is in natural resource economics, with a focus on water resources management, and in conservation biology; he also earned a certificate in business administration.
