Dr Mike MAUNDER

Executive Director, Cambridge Conservation Initiative, University of Cambridge

As Executive Director of Cambridge Conservation Initiative, Mike is devoted to facilitating the development of a unique alliance of conservation organisations including the University of Cambridge. Mike has been active in fieldwork, policy, research and education, and focuses on fostering multi-disciplinary and cross-border collaborations. Over the past 30 years Mike has worked across the globe in many academic and conservation organisations. He has served as Director of Conservation at National Tropical Botanical Garden, Executive Director at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, and Associate Dean for Research Engagement at Florida International University.  Within SSC Mike has been active with the Eastern African Plant Red List Authority, Conservation Breeding SG and the Reintroduction SG. He has also held several board memberships, including the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund.
