Ms Jyoti MATHUR-FILIPP

Director of the Implementation and Support Division, Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity

Ms. Jyoti Mathur-Filipp is the Director of Implementation and Support Division at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity since 2018, leading the work on the development of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. Prior to joining the Secretariat, she was Senior Advisor for UNDP, working on results-based payments for REDD+ in the context of the Green Climate Fund. Ms. Mathur-Filipp started her career in 1993 as Programme Officer with GEF, then worked on UNDP Capacity 21 programme. She also worked with the first private-public partnership between the UN and the private sector, Netaid, to promote awareness of poverty. She has been a Project Manager for the UNEP-GEF project 'Building Capacity for Effective Participation in the Biosafety Clearing-House'. Prior to joining UNEP, she had worked at UNFCCC. Ms. Mathur-Filipp holds an Advanced Degree in Urban Policy, Management and Planning from the NSSR in New York and an MBA from the City University of New York.
