Ecosystem approach as the cornerstone of our future

Why attend
We invite you to learn about Commission on Ecosystem Management priorities and opportunities for our members to be actively involved in our work. It’s a great opportunity to see our vision, understand our mandates, present your ideas, and how you can contribute. Special welcome to Young Professionals: you are the future and we need your voice.
HideDescription
Be part of our dialogue to define strategies for some of the flagship programs that will shape our mandates and actions for the next 4 years. Recovering our lives after the COVID-19 pandemic requires to reconnect with our managed or natural ecosystems in a more sustainable way. The current worldview based on economic growth without consideration for the natural world values has put us in a dire situation. We, as members, need to embrace the ecosystem approach and promote to all groups, acknowledging that all components of our ecosystems are essential for the survival of our planet and all its organisms. The Commission on Ecosystem Management strives to mainstream Ecosystem-based approaches by providing guidance and knowledge products for both landscape and seascape management to ensure their resilience in the face of global climate and environmental changes. Now, what can we do differently for nature for health and wellbeing as part of the recovery of the planet and its population?
