The purpose of this high-level Kiwa Initiative session is to provide a strategic overview of nature-based solution climate adaptation work in the Pacific region through the Kiwa Initiative Project and hear perspectives from the donors, countries/beneficiaries and the Kiwa Secretariat managed by AFD.

Attendees will hear of the purpose and background of the Kiwa Initiative, achievements to date plus some of the challenges faced but more importantly, what lies ahead. The Kiwa Initiative is a multi-donor program that aims to build resilience to climate change through Nature-based Solutions (NbS). It is based on simplified access to climate change adaptation and NbS financing for local and national authorities, civil society and regional organizations in the Pacific Countries and Territories, including the three French Overseas.
