Mr Vyacheslav SHADRIN

research fellow, Institute for Humanities Research and Indigenous Studies of the North, the Russian Academy of Sciences

Vyacheslav Shadrin is a chief, Chair of Council of Yukaghir Elders. He takes an active part in indigenous movement in Russia since 1989 and one of leaders of the umbrella organization to indigenous peoples of Yakutia.

He is also research fellow at the Institute for Humanities Research and Indigenous Studies of the North, Russian Academy of Sciences. His research focused on history and culture of arctic indigenous peoples, indigenous rights, ethnology expertise/social impact assessment, climate change, traditional land-use, traditional knowledge.

In 2015 he was awarded with the Paul K. Feyerabend Award “A World of Solidarity is Possible”.
