Rachel NEUGARTEN

Graduate student, Cornell University

Rachel Neugarten is a PhD student in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at Cornell University. Her research includes collaborating with scientists at the Natural Capital Project, Conservation International, and across the world to develop high-resolution global maps of a dozen ecosystem services and using this new information to identify global spatial priorities for conservation to benefit both biodiversity and people. From 2011-2019, she served as Director, Conservation Priority Setting at Conservation International, where she worked to incorporate ecosystem services and human well-being into the organization’s geographic priority setting, monitoring and evaluation frameworks.  Rachel also has an M.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University (2010) and a B.A. in Environmental Biology from Columbia University (2004).
