Prof. Mike ACREMAN

Director, Hydro-Ecology Consulting Ltd, Sibthorp Trust

Mike Acreman undetakes research at the interface between hydrology and ecology. He worked for 35 years at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology as lead scientist on hydro-ecology and natural capital, with secondments to IUCN, UK government and CSIRO in Australia. He has been a member of the IUCN Wetlands Advisory Committee, WWF-UK Programme Committee, the Ramsar Convention science panel, the Science Task force of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and the Natural England Science Board. He was co-Editor of Hydrological Sciences Journal and led Special Issues on Ecosystem Services of Wetlands and Environmental Flows. He has published over 150 scientific papers and his H-index is 40. He is now Director of Hydro-Ecology Consulting Ltd, working the United Nations, Council of Europe, World Bank, IUCN, WWF, European Commission and UK water companies and environment protection agencies. He is also a Trustee of the Sibthorp Trust.
