Dr Marion KARMANN

FSC International Research engagement, Forest Stewardship Council A.C. FSC

I studied forest management, tropical and community forestry and M&E. As labor unionist I got engaged in standard development for responsible forest management to strengthen workers' rights for decent work. I learned how crucial it is to engage all relevant stakeholder groups in decision-making processes for sustainable land use, and how very challenging it can be to identify and to engage all relevant players. I am working for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and I am looking forward to speaking with researchers at the IUCN Congress, to bring science into FSC, and FSC into science.
