Senior Biodiversity Policy Advisor, South African National Biodiversity Institute

Mandy Driver is the Senior Biodiversity Policy Advisor at the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), where her work focuses on ensuring that the management and conservation of biodiversity assets and ecological infrastructure is informed by the best available science and contributes to national development goals. As part of this, she leads a programme of work on Natural Capital Accounting in partnership with Statistics South Africa. Mandy originally trained and worked as an economist, and then moved into the biodiversity sector in the early 2000s where her work has involved a strong focus on spatial biodiversity assessment and planning, including playing a key role in South Africa's National Biodiversity Assessment.
