Dr Louise MAIR

Research Associate, Newcastle University

I am a post-doctoral researcher at Newcastle University focussing on species conservation and policy. I work with a large international team of conservation experts to develop the Species Threat Abatement and Restoration (STAR) metric, which quantifies the potential contribution of threat-abatement and habitat restoration activities to the reduction of species extinction risk. I am a member of the SSC Post-2020 Biodiversity Targets Task Force, and through this membership have participated in meetings of the Convention on Biological Diversity, contributing scientific expertise on the species component of the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.
