Dr Khaled Allam HARHASH

Senior Biodiversity and Protected Areas Advisor for the CEO of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency - Ministry of Environemnt , Ministry of Environment

Dr Khaled Allam Harhash, born in 1972 in Egypt, is the Chief Technical advisor of the CEO of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (Ministry of Environment) for biodiversity and protected areas, appointed in May 2021. Before that he was the 2nd Director of the Central Department of Biodiversity within the EEAA. 

Dr Harhash has more than 26 years of experience in Conservation of Biodiversity, Protected Area Management & Planning, Natural Resources Monitoring, Applied Ecology, World Heritage Site Nomination & Management, and Strategic Planning. 

Dr Harhash currently is a focal point for the PoWPA under the CBD as well as for  the Ministry of Environment within the IUCN. In addition, he is a member of 2 commissions and 1 regional expert group within the IUCN which are: (1) member of the WCPA; (2) member of the CEM; (3) Chair of the Green List EAGL in the Middle East and West Asia.
