Katrin Heeren is Director Public Sector EU at South Pole. In this role, her focus lies on liaising with the public sector for South Pole's impact funds, climate-related research, action platforms, and large development assistance programs which are focused on climate change and biodiversity. Katrin has over 20 years of experience working on climate, environmental, and sustainability topics across different sectors and types of organizations, in building networks and relationships with diverse stakeholders, influencing policy/decision-makers, and promoting innovative projects and initiatives at the national, EU, and international level. She has contributed to global environmental and climate initiatives such as the founding process of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development, and the Nature4Climate Initiative.
