Senior Director Ecological Monitoring, Conservation International

Karyn Tabor is the Senior Director of Ecological Monitoring in the Betty and Gordon Moore Center for Science at Conservation International. Karyn’s research is focused on developing decision-making tools to support sustainable land management for a range of stakeholders including indigenous peoples, conservation practitioners, and government technicians. Her technical expertise is in remote sensing, fire ecology, climate change modeling, land cover dynamics, suitability mapping, and impact evaluation. She has over 20 years of professional experience with land cover mapping, forest monitoring, image processing, and international capacity building of remote sensing and GIS.
