Gender Officer, Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association

Joyce Peshu is a Gender Officer at Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association with a mission to tackle social and power norms that lead to exclusion of women in conservancies. Joyce is trained in biological sciences, project management and social inclusion and gender. She has a unique 7 years experience with both International NGOs such as Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and local organizations, focusing on advocating for the rights of the marginalized especially women and youth in rural Kenya, creating safe spaces for women to voice their experiences regarding exclusion at both households and community level and supporting organization to assess their gender sensitivity. Joyce believes that no single approach is the right one for every individual and thus incorporates learning and applying different methodologies in her work.
