John ZULU

Site manager - Mosi-oa-Tunya l Victoria Falls World Heritage site, National Heritage Conservation Commission of Zambia

John has a BA with Honours in Cultural and Heritage management [University of Witwatersrand] and a MA in Cultural Anthropology from the same institution. He has then continued his studies at the University of Cape Town, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Museums and Heritage studies.
John is responsible the conservation and management structures of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya/Victoria Falls World Heritage site.  He coordinates and frequently organizes local stakeholder meetings for the purpose of harmonizing efforts to effectively conserve the site. Besides, he works conducting periodic patrol and site monitoring, planting of indigenous species, updating tree register, conducting bird counting exercises, control of invasive alien species, addressing issues of human/animal conflict between communities and government authorities and designing educational materials for school parties.
