Ms Joanne WILSON

Senior Policy Officer, NSW NPWS, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service

Joanne joined NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in 2014 and currently leads the national and international partnerships program. She is an experienced conservation scientist and manager with over 20 years experience in diverse roles across state governments, industry and non-government organisations. She has a background is in marine and coastal ecosystems, protected area management and monitoring and evaluation and spent five years in Indonesia leading the coral reef science program for The Nature Conservancy.  Her role in NPWS includes leading agency involvement in the IUCN Green List program, promoting the recommendations from the 2014 World Parks Congress – the Promise of Sydney and managing international agreements. Joanne is a member of the Green List Standards Committee and has led the successful nomination of three reserves in NSW.
