Senior advisor agrocommodity governance/ responsible value chains, IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands

Heleen van den Hombergh works for IUCN NL as senior advisor agrocommodity governance and responsible value chains, mainly focused on soy and palm oil. As participant of the IUCN Oil Palm/Oil Crops Task Force, she brings in expertise on (EU) policy, sustainability standards and civil society organizations in producing countries. She is a policy advisor to government, companies and financial institutions. Heleen hosts the Dutch NGO platform on palm oil, the  multistakeholder Dutch Soy Platform, the global Collaborative Soy Initiative, and takes part in the Edible Fats and Oils Collaboration facilitated by Forum for the Future.  For IUCN, she also takes part in the Expert Group/ Multi Stakeholder platform on deforestation of the European Commission. Local partners  include NGOs from Argentina and Indonesia. She will speak at session of IUCN Oil Crops Task Force  5 Sept 9:30, and in the IUCN NL Pavillion on 6 and 8 Sept. resp on soy and oil palm.
