Ms Françoise CLOTTES

Director, Strategy and Operations, Global Environment Facility

Françoise Clottes has been the Director of Strategy and Operations at the Global Environment Facility since 2017, following a twenty-year international career centered on sustainable development. She is leading the development of the policy and results frameworks as well as partnership engagements in support of GEF's mission.

A French national, Ms. Clottes joined the World Bank in 1994. Over the years, Ms. Clottes served in a range of different capacities, deploying successively as Country Manager for Morocco, Country Director for the 14 Caribbean Countries, and Country Director for Sri Lanka and Maldives. An economist by training, Ms. Clottes holds a Master’s in Public Policy degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and is an alumna from the École Normale Supérieure de Paris and the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.
