Mr Conrad SAVY

Biodiversity Lead: Africa & Middle East, International Finance Corporation

Conrad is a Regional Biodiversity Lead at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), working across sectors, with a focus on infrastructure and agribusiness. Conrad has contributed to the development and implementation of various science-based tools for biodiversity risk assessment and management by the private sector, including certification standards and offsets. He has held roles such as Global Biodiversity Lead at IFC, Director for Mining & Energy at Conservation International, and Lecturer of Wildlife Management at Sokoine University, Tanzania. He began his career as a ranger at the Aldabra Atoll World Heritage Site, Seychelles. He has worked extensively across Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America. He holds an MSc Conservation Biology from University of Cape Town, and is currently based in Kenya. Conrad is passionate about making conservation work in Africa.
