Dr Christof SCHENCK

Executive Director, Frankfurt Zoological Society

Holding a diploma and PhD in biology, I’m engaged in practical conservation on four continents since more than 30 years. I have been running the Frankfurt Zoological Society for 21 years. Our focus is protecting large, biodiversity rich, wilderness areas, and by that making an important contribution in counteracting the triple crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pandemics. 2017 we started developing a model for protected area funding in perpetuity. From 2018-2020 I was member of the project preparation team of KfW/BMZ for the Legacy Landscape Fund. I’m a board member in a variety of foundations and trust funds.
