Dr Chris SANDBROOK

Director of the Cambridge Masters in Conservation Leadership, University of Cambridge

Dr Chris Sandbrook is a conservation social scientist at the University of Cambridge with diverse research interests around a central theme of biodiversity conservation and its relationship with society. His current research investigates (i) the relationship between conservation and development at the landscape scale in developing countries, (ii) the role of values and evidence in shaping the decisions of conservationists and their organisations, and (iii) the social and political implications of new technologies for conservation. He is Director of the Cambridge Masters in Conservation Leadership. This cutting-edge programme is designed to build the leadership skills of mid-career conservation professionals from around the world. It is delivered by member organisations of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative – a unique partnership between the University of Cambridge and nine international conservation organisations based in the local area.
