Mr Bas VERSCHUUREN

Bas is a lecturer and researcher at the Forest and Nature Conservation Policy group at  Wageningen University. He is the co-chair to the IUCN WCPA Specialist group on Cultural and Spiritual Values of protected areas www.csvpa.org and co-founder of the Sacred Natural Sites Initiative www.sacrednaturalsites.org.

Bas has published widely including five edited volumes on human nature relationships and he recently lead-authored the IUCN Best Practice Guidelines on the cultural and spiritual significance of nature in protected and conserved areas.
