Mrs Barbara NAKANGU

Programme Manager -Amplifying Voices for Just Climate Action -WWF, WWF-NL

Nakangu is passionate about people-centered conservation.  She coordinates the WWF component of the Amplifying Voices for Just Climate Action, a programme that draws on experiences, power and positionally of six organizations to effectively address it's the socio-ecological dimensions. Prior, Nakangu worked with IUCN, as a Senior Programme Manager in the IUCN-Global Program on Governance and Rights, where she participated in rolling-out the implementation of the Natural Resources Governance framework, designed to guide a more systematic, coherent and deeper achievement of inclusive and equitable rights based natural resources governance. She also worked with IUCN in the East African region and, it included directing the IUCN Uganda program for four years. Barbara holds a PhD in Political Ecology from Makerere University.
