Dr Antonin VERGEZ

Senior expert for natural resources economics, IUCN

Antonin Vergez is an Agronomist and Engineer and holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics (from AgroParisTech).

Between 2009 and 2021, Antonin has served at the French Ministry in charge of the Environment working on European and national policies: products' environmental labelling and life cycle analysis, prospective modelling in energy and climate change, biodiversity offsetting, green bonds, ecosystem services assessments, environmental accounting, critical minerals involved in the low carbon transition.

In 2021, he taught the course "European trade policy and environment protection" at SciencesPo's School of Public Affairs (Master of European Affairs).

Antonin joined IUCN in June 2021 as a Senior Expert on Natural resources economics to be part of the Economic Knowledge Unit, under the supervision of Chief economist Juha Siikamäki.

Antonin is married and a father of three boys.
