Anna JONES

Journalist, Freelance

Anna Jones is a journalist, writer, broadcaster and farmer’s daughter. She tells stories about agriculture, the environment and rural life.

She was born and raised on an upland family farm on the border between England and Wales and comes from at least five generations of farmers. Her parents still run a flock of sheep and a small beef cattle herd.

Anna is interested in the cultural and political relationships between farmers and environmentalists, and urban and rural communities. She is passionate about building positive bridges between traditionally divided worlds.

She works for the BBC on a freelance basis, on TV and radio programmes including Countryfile, Farming Today, On Your Farm and Costing the Earth and has reported on agricultural issues for BBC News and the World Service. She has written for various publications, including The Guardian, Farmers Guardian and Farmers Weekly.
