Professor of Marine Conservation & Director, Project Seahorse, The University of British Columbia

Amanda Vincent is Chair of the IUCN SSC Marine Conservation Committee and Chair of the IUCN SSC Seahorse, Pipefish and Seadragon Specialist Group.  Amanda is a Professor of marine conservation at the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries at the University of British Columbia in Canada.  She is also Director of Project Seahorse (www.projectseahorse.org), a leading team in marine conservation; we make discoveries & collaborate globally to take effective action for seahorses and their seas.  Amanda has spent much of her life in developing countries and is deeply interested in reconciling fisheries with conservation.  She was honoured with the Indianapolis Prize in animal conservation in 2020.
