Dr Alejandro IZA

Director, Environmental Law Centre

Alejandro Iza is the Director of the Environmental Law Centre and Head of the Environmental Law Programme of IUCN since 2005. Alejandro is an environmental lawyer with a long trajectory in policy and legal formulation, implementation, and diplomacy in more than 60 countries around the world. In his academic career, he taught Public International Law, International Environmental Law and European law. He authored and co-authored over 50 publications. An Argentine national, he studied law at the University of Buenos Aires. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of London, and a PhD in international law from the University of Buenos Aires.
