Mr Alain FRECHETTE

Director, Strategic Analysis and Global Engagement, Rights and Resources Initiative

Alain Frechette is Director of Strategic Analysis and Global Engagement at RRI, where he oversees Coalition-led thematic work on climate and conservation priorities. He has over 25 of experience in natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, and climate change with a heavy focus on human, indigenous and community rights in the context of international development. Alain began his career with state and provincial forest and protected area agencies in the United States and Canada before pursuing technical, monitoring and evaluation consultancies with multilateral organizations, development agencies, and NGOs such as IUCN, DFID, the World Bank, and various UN institutions across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Alain is a graduate of McGill University (biology and education), and holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Quebec in Montreal.
