Renewable energy and biodiversity: implementation of the mitigation hierarchy

Hosted and facilitated by IUCN, the session aims at illustrating the existing solutions to mitigate the biodiversity risks associated to solar and wind developments. During this session, representatives from IUCN, The Biodiversity Consultancy, Biotope, BirdLife, FFI, TNC EDF Renewables, and others will discuss what are the key solutions to effectively mitigate the biodiversity impacts associated to solar and wind energy developments and the role of the key stakeholders, in particular public authorities and utilities/energy companies. The session will be also an opportunity to learn more about IUCN and TBC Guidelines and the biodiversity early risk screening framework recently launched.
