Nature-based Solutions Training: using the global standard to achieve positive sustainable change

Why attend
Are you seeking a solution to food/water security, economic and social development, climate change, disaster risk reduction or human health? Nature-based Solutions may be that solution. Come to this capacity building campus for a user-friendly guide on how to design and verify Nature-based Solutions using the newly launched IUCN global standard.
HideDescription
As the visibility, impact and demand for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) rises, we need a common language and framework to ensure the most effective solutions are going ahead. The Global Ecosystem Management Programme and Commission for Ecosystem Management, together with hundreds of stakeholders worldwide such as the French national committee for IUCN who took part in the public consultation, are delighted to present a new tool to design and verify NbS. The Global Standard for NbS is designed to be the standard that we most need right now to mainstream NbS as soon as possible to incentivise positive sustainable change. The standard and associated guidance offers a user-friendly approach to designing an effective NbS. In this campus, you will learn how to design your own NbS to address a societal challenge, with particular attention paid to leverage points to overcome barriers and challenges.
