Ms Bora MASUMBUKO

Senior Programme Officer, IUCN

Ms. Bora Masumbuko is an environment and biodiversity conservation specialist. Over the past 20 years she has worked on issues related to: integrated environmental assessments, protected areas management, climate change adaptation, sustainable land management, and ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction. Bora is particularly interested and engaged in ecosystems’ and human populations’ resilience to global environmental changes, communities engagement in natural resources management, and in strengthening capacities in natural resources governance and management. During her experience she has been instrumental in developing tools to improve ecosystems’ resilience to climate change and in turning them into national policies. Bora is currently a Senior Programme Officer at IUCN. Bora holds a MSc in Agricultural Sciences and Biological Engineering from Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, Belgium, and a BSc in Populations’ and Ecosystems’ Biology from the University of Lille, France
