NaturAfrica: a people-centred approach of conservation

Why attend
This session will detail NaturAfrica, the new EU initiative for biodiversity conservation on Africa and present the conclusions of the European Development Days dedicated to biodiversity (with the recommendations by a high-level panel of experts and practitioners).
HideDescription
NaturAfrica will support biodiversity conservation in Africa by an innovative people-centred approach. It identifies key landscapes for conservation and development where the EU will focus support for job creation, improved security and sustainable livelihoods, while preserving the ecosystems and wildlife that are vital to all. The EU is working with African partners (governments, local communities, private sector) to implement our new initiative NaturAfrica in 31 countries. This joint approach between Africa and Europe will be an incredible step forward that contributes to stability and better livelihoods for people. The presentations by DG INTPA Koen Doens and by the high-level panel will be followed by a panel of high-level African stakeholders.
