This session will provide you relevant information on the progress in expanding of IUCN Red List, especially for plants, fungi and invertebrates, the importance of conducting re-assessments so that the Red List Index can be produced, and the priorities for the IUCN Red List in the next decades.

This session will highlight the progress made since 2016 in expanding and updating The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Information on the new species groups added to the Red List will be presented and the Species Survival Commission and other Red List Partners will describe the importance of the IUCN Red List for Conservation. The main priorities for the IUCN Red List in the next decade will also be presented.
