Networking to achieve zero plastic pollution in the Mediterranean

Why attend
What can we do to reduce the plastic problem in the Mediterranean? How can we better share initiatives and start developing a common action plan? Join us in an event in which to discuss the call for action developed by Région Sud and IUCN to achieve zero plastic pollution in the Mediterranean basin.
HideDescription
The Mediterranean Sea holds a very rich diversity of species, it is unique and it is home of many different populations and cultures. Unfortunately, it is also very vulnerable, especially to plastic pollution. The Mediterranean is actually considered the 6º greatest accumulation zones for marine litter even if it holds the only 1% of the world water. To stop this situation, the collaboration of all is necessary. In the first part of the session, we will listen to strategies of Mediterranean regions and international initiatives that were put in place in order to curbing the plastic pollution. The call for action of the Région Sud and IUCN will be presented. A roundtable will follow to debate with all the attendees about how to improve networking and collaboration.
