Promoting guidance and best practices developed between EC & IUCN for addressing Invasive Alien Species

Why attend
To learn about tools to help EU Member States to implement the EU Invasive Alien Species Regulation
HideDescription
Since 2016, IUCN, supported by a large network of global experts and the IUCN SSC Invasive Species Specialist Group, has produced, on behalf of the EC, a wide and diverse range of materials to support IAS managers, scientists, and relevant national authorities to tackle biological invasions in Europe. The objective is to contribute to effectively implement the EU Invasive Alien Species Regulation. In this session, we will present some of these technical documents and decision-making support tools to help EU Member States identify invasive alien species, with a special emphasis of those of Union concern, prevent their introduction and spread, as well as to manage and eradicate their populations established across the EU.
