Nature based Solutions - Moving forward

Why attend
For an effective NbS implementation and to multiply their positive effects, we should establish strong networks and partnerships between governments and the civil society in the Mediterranean Basin. How can we build these networks? What role should they play? Who will finance them? Several key stakeholders will present their views on these issues.
HideDescription
Large and small, regional, national or local, governmental and non-governmental organizations have been working in the last decades to achieve a more sustainable use of natural resources in the Mediterranean region. Nature and the solutions it provides are a priority area, especially in the Mediterranean region, which has historically featured one of the most human dominated landscape in the world. Applying Nature-based Solutions can help ensure ecological connectivity, restore depleted ecosystems and build resilience to climate change. Three panels will offer discussions on how to “flick the green switch” in terms of broader regional cooperation, discussion in multilateral, regional and local bodies, and mobilizing financial resources to respond to climate change and biodiversity challenges affecting the region. These discussions aim to become the seed for a common vision and a future NbS Action Plan for the Mediterranean Basin.
