Testimonies from the field" Part II

Why attend
Do you know that the Mediterranean region is getting warmer than other regions in the world? NbS offer an unprecedented opportunity to increase the resilience of Mediterranean society faced with climate change. The event will showcase successful examples and initiatives of NbS in place applied in different natural ecosystems and urban areas.
HideDescription
Second part of a session devoted to present testimonies from the field related to Nature-based Solutions. This session will showcase four examples: 1) NbS for innovation, sustainable economic growth and human well-being in Malta -ReNature project; 2) NbS to improve resilience of Mediterranean coastal cities (Tanger-Tétouan Region, Venice lagoon, Aix-Marseille Metropole)- MÉLIMED Project; 3) NbS experiences to reduce the coastal risks from the Life Adapto project (Delta du Golo, Petit and Grand Travers and Vieux Salins d'Hyères) 4) Tools for a Green Recovery: Planning and Delivering Nature-based Solutions in Mediterranean cities. Lessons learned from an assessment of the IUCN Standard using 18 NbS interventions in Mediterranean cities has allowed the identification of both the Standard’s potential in Mediterranean cities and challenges in its use that must be resolved.
