HideDescription
The Guiana Shield is a unique biodiversity hotspot and the ancestral home of multiple indigenous and Afro-descendant communities. It is one of the few remaining unspoiled wild places on earth but under threat of deforestation. The Amazon Conservation Team, ACT, has partnered with indigenous and local communities in the region for 25 years to protect the rainforest and strengthen traditional culture in the area. ACT has developed a new storytelling map capturing the treats and some success stories in the Guiana Shield and will present it in this session. You can find the storytelling map here: https://www.amazonteam.org/maps/guiana-shield/
