HideDescription
Hainan gibbon is the most endangered of all the gibbons and is the world’s rarest primate, with only 30+ individuals remaining. It is endemic to the island of Hainan and is currently found only in a single reserve, the Bawangling Nature Reserve which is now part of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park. Hainan gibbon is Hainan’s most important flagship species, a truly symbolic species for the island, comparable to the Giant Panda for the whole of China. It is truly “The Giant Panda of Hainan”. The press conference will release the Hainan Gibbon Case Study which was written by 15 experts from 11 organizations from all over the world, and share the good news of new-born Hainan Gibbon babies with the world.
