The Pacific Islands held the 10th Pacific Island Conference on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas hosted virtually by SPREP, the Pacific Islands Roundtable, and the Government of New Caledonia in November 2020, bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders from community, Government, academia, non-government agencies, regional and global partners. It established a set of messages, including a high-level ministerial declaration, focused on voicing the urgent needs, direction, and presents possible effective and efficient solutions and actions for biodiversity management and protection beyond 2020 within the Pacific Islands.
