HideDescription
This Session explores how IUCN constituencies and different intergovernmental bodies can contribute and work together towards strengthening the protection of environmental human rights defenders. It seeks to, on one, hand take stock of the tools and strategies being deployed by environmental defenders and their support networks - and, on the other hand, explore how work by IUCN members and constituencies, as well as other intergovernmental bodies, can be strengthened. The IUCN network offers a growing community of practice increasingly working towards building alliances together with other intergovernmental bodiesin support of defenders.
