Impact Should Be Immeasurable

Why attend
In an over-analyzed world where we track (and are required to track) everything from soil acidity to facial recognition, we cannot lose the importance of the impact we can't calculate: the immeasurable effects on an individual’s growth.
HideDescription
Current funding and opportunity models require clear and defined metrics for measuring success. We are an over-calculated civilization obsessed with analyzations and it is stifling our ability to take opportunistic risks on developing innovative and creative solutions. More importantly, it is hindering and discouraging youth from engaging in new idea development: if I will not be successful, or make an enormous impact, why should I even start and try? Since we've received access to real-time updates, we have also begun to want real-time updates from those that we invest in, but in the process we have lost the importance of investing in the internal - the qualities, skills, and attributes that allow a young person to become a contributing member of society over the long-term. This talk will dive into the importance in investing in the individual and tracking the immeasurable, and why supporters need to shift their definition of success.
