A Plastic Free Ocean starts with Cities

Why attend
If business as usual continues, an additional 150 Million tonnes of plastic will end up in the ocean, in just the next 10 years! Cleanups are never going to solve this so we need to focus on tackling the root cause of the issue. WWF works with cities to address plastic leakage and get their commitments.
HideDescription
WWF is tackling the global plastic pollution crisis at the source by working together with stakeholders at the city at improving 3Rs and collection/waste management. We are currently active in 5 pilot cities in Asia and are looking to scale up to a 1000 cities by 2030 to achieve our vision: No Plastic in Nature. In this session we will present on our approach working with multi-stakeholders (private sector, local governments, communities) combining our efforts to prevent ocean leakage with cleanups and monitoring.
