Particular qualifications to be a Regional Councillor:
Being a biologist/herpetologist as my primary background, with broad experience working with the international cooperation (UNDP), national government, national and international NGOs and multilateral environmental agreements (CITES, CBD, others). Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:

Experience in biodiversity conservation in the Dominican Republic and the insular Caribbean. Community involvement, funding mechanisms (GEF, CBF, others). Member of several IUCN Specialist Groups (Tortoises and freshwater turtles; Anoles; Boas; Amphibians). Former WCPA Caribbean Vice-Chair. Council member for the period 2016–2020 (Governance Committee).
