Particular qualifications to be a Regional Councillor:
From my background as a Steering Committee member of the Commission on Ecosystem Management, as a representative of The University of Jordan and based on my education and experience in the field of ecology and environment, and my 4-year term as a Regional Councillor in the global IUCN Council, I will be working with other fellow Councillors, if elected, to support the implementation of the One Programme from a global point of view. But also facilitating the regional involvement of members with the Regional Office and networking between the different parts of the Union (members, Commissions and Secretariat).

Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:

I have been the University of Jordan representative to the IUCN National Committee of Jordan since 2000 and involved in the field of conservation and environmental management thru my academic work at the University of Jordan and my research interest. In addition, I served for 8 years (2008–2016) on the Steering Committee of IUCN CEM serving the Asia region. I am serving a 4-year term as a Regional Councillor (2016–2020).
