Coordinator, Kenyan Youth Biodiversity Network

Mr. Kevin Lunzalu is a young ecologist, researcher, and ocean campaigner from Kenya. He has experience and interest in working with youth at grassroots level, governance and policy, environmental storytelling, and climate action. Through his work, Kevin has positively strengthened youth-centered biodiversity conservation, meaningful engagement of young people in policy formulation and implementation, and ocean sustainability. A graduate student of Coastal Science & Policy at the University of California, Lunzalu was listed among the Top 100 Young African Conservation Leaders in 2021. He is the co-founder of the Kenyan Youth Biodiversity Network, an award-winning youth-led organization that seeks to actively engage young people at the grass-root level to raise their voices in policy frameworks and embrace sustainable action aimed at halting the current unprecedented biodiversity loss and reversing the impact of the climate crisis in Kenya.
