Jennifer CORPUZ

Director, Policy, Nia Tero

Jennifer Tauli Corpuz, from the Kankana-ey Igorot Indigenous People of Mountain Province in the Philippines, is a lawyer by profession. She is the Director for Policy of Nia Tero, a US-based foundation that works alongside Indigenous Peoples to secure Indigenous guardianship. She is policy advisor to Tebtebba – Indigenous Peoples’ International Center for Policy Research and Education. Jennifer graduated from the UP College of Law and obtained her Master of Laws (Ll.M.) from the Indigenous Peoples’ Law and Policy (IPLP) Program of The University of Arizona at Tucson, Arizona. She was the 2012 Indigenous Intellectual Property Fellow at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and since then has been an active participant in the WIPO IGC negotiations. She was involved as negotiator and expert for the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) on the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-Sharing.
